Pingpu Tribes Belt snuffbox

This snuffbox, carved from a single piece of wood, is designed to be worn on the belt. It comes from the Siraya tribe, one of the Pingpu indigenous peoples of the plains. These aborigines were among the first to be influenced by Chinese invaders, hence the engraving depicting a Chinese figure.
