Paiwan tribe- Painted wooden statue

This ancient statue from the Paiwan tribe, painted in red, green, white, and brown and carved from a single piece of wood, depicts a ritual dance performed by three figures in ceremonial attire. The sculpture served to remind the family who owned it of a significant event in their social life — a special ceremony celebrated by the village, such as a birth, a healing, a feat of bravery, or another notable occasion.
