19th-century door lintel from the Paiwan tribe, carved with a pair of snakes facing each other and two human faces on either side. This Paiwan panel is heavily eroded and was probably placed above the entrance, exposed to the elements.

Rukai tribe Sword

Ancient ceremonial long sword from the Rukai tribe. The back of the sheath is painted red and inlaid with finely engraved snakes in brass sheet. The top is also covered with an engraved brass plate. The very long blade of this Rukai sword features a handle in the Rukai style, decorated with small flower-shaped motifs and aluminum wire. The guard of the sword is made from a Japanese coin.
