Ami tribe ceremonial Sword

This ceremonial sword from the Ami tribe, located on the Pacific coast of Taiwan in the seaside plains (Hualien), features a scabbard and handle made of horn inlaid with mother-of-pearl, in the pure Ami style. However, there is a clear influence from the neighboring Puyuma tribe in the way the scabbard ends, reminiscent of Paiwan swords. The blade shape also reflects Paiwan influence, being straight. This type of horn-inlaid sword is extremely rare.
