Ami tribe woman legging

Pair of women’s leggings from the Ami tribe, made of pink cotton fabric with orange and black stripes, sewn with ten rows of small bells. The bottom of each piece is adorned with green woolen knots. Such leggings were traditionally worn by women during ceremonies and festivals. This pair is estimated to date from the 1950s.
