Ceremonial Paiwan tribe Sword

This imposing ceremonial Paiwan sword is carved on its front side with a wild boar and a snake running along the entire length of the wooden scabbard. The side features two carved deer, while the back is adorned with two full-length human figures. This sword likely belonged to a noble and accomplished hunter. The joint between the front and back faces, forming the edge of the scabbard, is covered with a brass band. Some sections of the brass are painted, suggesting that the sword may have been repainted in the past. The hilt is painted red and carved with stylized human figures.
