Puyuma tribe Men's leg covering

This garment is made from two rectangular pieces of fabric. A cotton strap is attached at the back of the waist, while additional straps lower on the garment are used to tie it around each calf. Apart from the waistband—crafted from imported Japanese ikat—the rest of the garment is made from twill fabric featuring rhomboid and vertical stripe patterns woven with wool yarn. These characteristics suggest that the garment dates back to the Japanese colonial period.
