Shaman box for divination instruments - Paiwan tribe.

This shamanic box is of exceptional quality. Complete with its original cloth, it is elegantly engraved with two sacred serpents: one facing upwards, containing eight stylized faces within its body, symbolizing the protection of the sacred serpent over the members of the tribe; the other facing downwards, representing reverence for the ancestors. Four inlaid buttons, likely taken from a Japanese officer’s shirt, adorn the box.
