Sword-hanging Panel from the Rukai tribe

This sword-hanging panel from the Rukai tribe is one of the rare examples of a panel used for purposes other than religious worship, partitioning, or beam support. It was most often placed near the entrance to be easily seen, and ceremonial family swords were hung on it. Displaying beautiful ceremonial swords was also a way to assert one’s social status and noble heritage.
