Ils ont pour la plupart été collectés et acquis par nos soins — nous résidons à Taïwan depuis 26 ans — dans des villages de montagne Paiwan ou Rukai. Ces objets portent les marques authentiques de leur usage quotidien : l’usure du couteau d’un paysan paiwan ayant fauché des gerbes de millet pendant des décennies, ou les traces laissées par une coupe à boire tombée des centaines de fois au sol lors de festivités.

Nous avons réduit certains coûts de présentation, comme les photographies réalisées hors studio, ce qui nous permet de vous proposer cette « collection de terrain » à des prix très raisonnables.

Utility and hunting knife from the Atayal tribe, northern Taiwan. The shape of the sheath is typical of Atayal design. Atayal tribes do not carve their knives or swords.

This drinking cup from paiwan features two beautifully carved handles, each depicting an ancestor holding the drinking cup between his thighs. The center of the double cup is carved with four human faces and a decorative frieze. The entire piece is made of natural wood.
