排灣族女性綁腿

Antique Paiwan tribe women’s leggings made of red wool with black cotton panels and vertical stripes in pink, yellow, and orange. This traditional pair features eight rows of small copper bells and black cotton straps for tying around the calves. Such square leggings were worn over skirts to expose the lower legs and were decorated only by noblewomen. A rare example of formal Paiwan ceremonial wear from Taiwan's Indigenous heritage.

Rare and massive early 19th-century panel from the East Coast Paiwan tribe, carved in the Taimali style. It features a prominent central nose, a stylized face at the top, and another face carved at the bottom — a characteristic design of the Southeastern Paiwan tradition.

Very beautiful and massive ancestral panel from the Paiwan tribe, dating from the 19th century, carved with a nude female ancestor wearing a headdress formed by two intertwined snakes facing away from each other. A truly remarkable piece.
